My Best 10 Books

This site is the temporary home for My Best 10 Books.

The intention is to develop this into an interesting resource for book lovers to be able to see what books are highly thought of rather that the list of current top sellers.   This in being achieved by inviting people to nominate their 10 most significant / life changing / wouldn't-want-to-be-without-it books.  As has already happened, I have no problem with people subsequently changing any of their nominated books.

Initially they will be listed in order of the number of times they are mentioned then in alphabetical order within that group based on the title.   Where the title starts with "A" or "The", they are bracketed but not used in the alphabetic sequence.   A quick look should clarify this.

Also, the identification (by initials at this stage) of the person nominating the books will follow each book.   Initially I did not intend to note the contributors name now I do, subject to the contributors approval.   At some later date i might list each person's selection under their name so that anyone liking a contributor's selection can easily find their other nominations.

Enjoy, and if you haven't sent me your best 10, please do so:
